We currently employ approximately 200 employees. We provide IT and Business Process Outsourcing services to the short term insurance industry in personal and commercial lines.  Various national and many independent brokers make use of our insurance offerings supported by major insurance companies.

 Job Title: Accounts Clerk
 Location: South Africa





Responsibilities
    * importing bank statements to Pastel,
    * reconciling the bank statements to transaction listings,
    * investigate and resolve reconciling items

Claims float account reconciliations on a weekly basis:

    * Import bank statements into Pastel
    * Reconcile against claims paid on a weekly basis
    * Request top-up weekly
    * Investigate and resolve reconciling items

Ad hoc financial transactions

    * Clearing of the age analysis
    * Capturing of the deposits from the bank statement to an in-house system
    * Payment of refunds
    * Any other instructions from Operational Accountant.

JOB  REQUIRMENTS


2.1 Qualification
Essential / Minimum requirements Preferred qualifications
Matric (with Accounting HG)  
Financial Accounting/Bookkeeping related qualification Degree in Accounting, Financial Management
Pastel Training (must be able to do cashbook, journals, bank recons etc.)  


2.2 Working Experience
Essential / Minimum requirements Preferred experience
1. At least 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping environment or a similar position. Previous experience as an Accounts Clerk in the Insurance Industry.
2. Must have basic Pastel experience  


2.3 Technical competencies
Essential / Minimum requirements Preferred competencies
MS Office Excel (Advanced) – must be able to work with Pivot Tables, Formula’s, and Data Extractions etc.    
MS Outlook – e-mail  
Pastel (Basic)
