Job description
WTS Energy is looking for Piping Mechanical QA / QC Inspector to join the team of our Client - Oil & Gas Operator - on a rotational basis, the job is based in Oman.
- Responsible by physical inspection of all piping / mechanical installations, ensuring that all Contractor personnel and workmanship is completed in accordance with approved designs, international codes , standards and Company's procedures.
- Responsible for providing guidance to contractor and witness all piping / mechanical testing and commissioning activities.
- Responsible for generating accurate, clear and concise inspection/QA/QC reports.
- Responsible for the identification of positive or negative progress including non-conformances and feedback to QA /QC Team Leader, Construction Site manager or construction supervisor .
- Responsible for coordinating with the various contractors to ensure that the approved Health & Safety / QA/QC procedures and the Quality Plan are implemented during inspection activities.
- Provide input to Company's near miss and incident reporting system.
- Provide input to Company progress reporting systems as required.
- Responsible for supervising the contractor in the compilation of the handover and test packs together with all as-built documentation.
Authorities: The Piping Mechanical inspector shall have the authority to issue Non-Conformance Reports for materials and works that are not in compliance with industry standards, codes, specifications or procedures. The inspector shall also have the authority to close non-conformance reports once the non-conformance has been rectified. The inspector shall be authorized to produce punchlist reports and subsequently close punchlist items from the reports. Additionally, the inspector shall have the authority to stop work, if in the inspector’s opinion, work is being performed in and unsafe manner to such an extent the inspector feels a worker(s) wellbeing is in danger.
Qualification
- Must possess 10 years relevant experience with a minimum of 5 years direct experience in the Oil & Gas industry in a similar QA / QC capacity within the facilities and construction environment.
- It is envisaged that candidates will have a recognized engineering qualification (diploma or similar) but the ability to demonstrate proven experience and an excellent track record in a similar environment is considered to be of equal or greater importance.
- Must possess the ability to read and understand Process, Piping/Mechanical drawing which as a minimum include P&ID’s, General arrangements and isometrics.
- Strong team player with good interpersonal and management skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with management, construction and engineering contractors, vendors and any other OXY departments to facilitate flow of information.
- Must be PC literate and skilled in the use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook as minimum.
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple assignments with a focus on meeting deadlines and with delivery of quality project.
